Current European regulations require truck drivers to take a 45-minute break after every 4.5 hours of driving. Long-range BEV trucks soon coming to market offer sufficient range for over 7 hours of highway driving, and can recharge to 80% capacity in 30 minutes. Their total cost of ownership appears to be below that of diesel trucks. See Insideevs:

Hydrogen Stations Switzerland

There are currently eight hydrogen fuelling stations in Switzerland, and none inside most cities, including Zurich, Geneva, and Basel, and most cantons. Owners in nearly all locations would have to drive them significant distances to refuel them. By comparison, nearly all BEV owners charge their vehicles primarily at home, overnight, meaning no special trip is required to refuel.

How do hydrogen boilers work

. Hydrogen ready boilers are attractive because the current capacity to produce hydrogen, especially green hydrogen, is limited. Hydrogen ready boilers could be installed before any hydrogen is distributed at all, and then be able to operate as increasing amounts of hydrogen are fed into existing natural gas distribution lines.
¹⁰
Overlapping generations of boilers would require dual delivery systems:
With some retrofits, we could use many existing natural gas pipes to deliver a mixture of natural gas and hydrogen, and in some cases even pure hydrogen. But as long as there are any older natural gas boilers connected to those pipes we can’t feed in any hydrogen for the boilers that are hydrogen ready. The same problem would occur during the later transition from current hydrogen ready boilers to those burning pure hydrogen.

Swiss long-term climate strategy to 2050

envisions the electrification option, relying primarily on increases in PV power generation, combined with some level of renewable energy imports, to achieve this. The factor four ramp up can be derived by assuming an S-shaped diffusion curve for PV, where the fastest rates of installation will happen between 2025 and 2040.
